comfortable room but dining options could improve

Unique Dickensian decor, lively cocktail bar, engaging cocktail-making sessions
Consider upgrading room sound insulation!!! Elevators for easier access would be beneficial!!! Rooms could greatly benefit from a thorough cleanliness overhaul!!!

The location was fantastic, being just a short walk from the city center, which made it convenient for exploring the local attractions. The room itself was quite spacious and had a nice shower with good water pressure, which I appreciated after a long day. the air conditioning didn't work very well, making the room a bit uncomfortable at times. the hospitality from the staff was a highlight of my stay.

My stay at the 1843 was quite lovely, but there were some hiccups. The room was spacious with plenty of natural light, which I really appreciated. Amenities exceeded my expectations, especially the delightful range of freshly made items at breakfast. I found the air conditioning totally ineffective, making the room uncomfortably warm at times. the location was perfectly situated, making it easy to explore Reading. The staff were friendly and attentive, which added to the warm atmosphere. a good experience but the temperature control needs some serious attention.

Had a blast exploring the local food scene! Managed to snag some killer homemade pies from nearby Bakery House. the bar area downstairs was pretty chill, perfect for winding down after a day in town.
My single room was cozy but faced another building just six feet away. Had a wee desk with no chair and lighting was dim. No breakfast was a bummer.

i had a great stay at hotel 1843. the location is super convenient, just a short walk to the city centre. deepa from the staff was really nice and helped me with my heavy luggage. the room was comfy with good water flow in the shower. i loved the quirky vibe and how tidy everything was.
the only thing was not having a lift to help with heavy bags and that some areas could use a bit more updating.

I had a lovely time enjoying the cozy floral decor and a delicious lunch during my stay. The hotel offered great relaxation with its inviting lounge and peaceful reading nook, perfect for unwinding. The only slight drawback was the shower curtain needing a little upgrade, but it didn’t ruin my experience at all. 😊
